Also, when couples are young, the boy usually gets blamed for everything. (for example: if they drank alcoholic beverages, or, if they stayed out past curfew hours. Or, even if they eloped).
Boys are generally forced to stand on their own, without having anyone to confide with.
While In contrast, families are usually supportive & helpful toward the girl.

I've been saying this for an entire lifetime. And, although this video primarily targets against the media. This message should also be applied to our everyday relationships.(not just against Hollywood.)
Sadly, the media encourages this type of competition amongst partners. This type of control should be frowned upon. Now, as for, so-called 'balance & fair treatment'? Nope, there's none of that, in the real world.

I still can't understand why this is considered a "modern issue".
In truth, it's typical for a woman to pretend that she's disinterested in men. People have been playing these games for several generations.
so, I ask, once again:
why does everyone subscribe to the idea that this is some-sort-of modern issue?
For the answer to that question:
please refer to my original statement;
"Our lives are gravely controlled by the media".
And, not only do they influence your guidelines of acceptance.
But, more importantly, they decide determine which concepts carry validity.
Thus, even if you subscribe to my position on these issues,
we still need to question whether or not 'this video' touches upon reality.
Why should we accept such notions,
merely because the media draws this determination?
